Do you know how much pain goes into your sweet bite of chocolate?

This story begins with two very close brothers, Amadou and his little brother Seydou. They leave their home to find a job but they end up being sold into slavery. They are made to work at a cacao farm. Amadou hated himself and blamed himself about the situation that they were in. We follow the journey of Amadou trying to get them off this farm, realizing that it wasn’t his fault, and the friends they meet while on this journey. This book shows the hardships, intense labor, and horrible working conditions that these children suffer just for us to get that $1.50 piece of chocolate into our hands.
